Start a reward program in your school called “Gotcha”. Give students a Special Coin as a reward when they are caught doing something good or helping others. Place students’ names into a jar in the classroom. Then bring the jars to school assembly each month and pull 3 names from the jars. The student whose names are pulled are then rewarded with a prize from the Treasure Chest. Examples of how students can earn Gotcha tickets include holding the door open for a teacher, helping another student, returning lost property, etc.

To encourage students in your classroom, give out Star Student Cards to each of your students. Punch their card for the following: weekly perfect attendance, weekly homework completion, weekly rule obedience, improved test scores and grade averages. When all 20 holes of their card are punched, all the student to go to the Treasure Chests for a special reward.

Cover a shoe box with wrapping paper so the lid can be removed. Put a cupcake, a birthday napkin, a sticker, a birthday card made by the class and a special toy inside the box.  Display the box on the students desk in the morning before they arrive and then have the class sing Happy Birthday as the student opens the box.

Engage your class in this activity to make learning syllables easier to understand. Students can use our animal and teeth clips to count and sound-out each syllable.
